Board of Directors
Peggy Roa (President) is currently the General Manager of the Menagerie Nightclub in Riverside, CA. Prior to her position at the Menagerie Peggy spent several years in the corporate arena as a Production Manager for Fuji Film. Peggy is an active member of the Riverside area community. In addition to the JOCC Peggy has volunteered her time with and has established collaborative relationships with various community organizations such as Inland AIDS Project, United Way of the Inland Valleys, Rainbow Pride Youth Alliance, Western Inland Empire Coalition Against Hate, The Community Foundation and The Riverside City Human Relations Commission. As a parent, Peggy is also very active within the Riverside Unified School District and the local schools.
Rob McMurray (Vice President) Rob has worked for the County of San Bernardino for many years, volunteered with First Congregation Church, Riverside Police Department, Inland AIDS, PAC, San Bernardino Co. Suicide and Crisis Intervention and of course, the JOCC almost since its inception. Rob sincerely believes that JOCC will be the LGBTQQII service center for the Inland Empire and join other area organizations in the education and enlightment of the communities when it comes to issues of hate, misunderstanding and ignorance as it concerns our communities.
John Stanskas (Board Secretary) is a professor of chemistry at San Bernardino Valley College and has been a volunteer at large with the center for over a year now. John attended Mary Washington College in Virginia where he obtained his undergraduate degree and was involved with equal rights and LGBT issues and later received his graduate degree from University of Maryland.
John’s goals with JOCC are to create a vibrant and diverse community center in downtown Riverside and help JOCC secure a variety of grants.
Kelly Richard (Treasurer) is the newest member of the board, joining us in 2008. Kelly brings with her a wealth of experience in various activies of the LGBT community. She is a successful businesswoman running a printing agency with her partner of many years
JOCC Steering Committee
The Steering Committee exists to create the infrastructure of the Jeffery Owens Community Center, to organize JOCC as a nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation, to invite Riverside area individuals and groups to become involved in the organizing process, and to build a strong JOCC Community Advisory Council and JOCC Board of Directors

The Council exists to advise the JOCC Organizing Committee and Board of Directors on the needs of the Riverside area LGBT and allies communities.
